Praise the Lord!

Psalm 117 starts with a call to all the nations to Praise God. It is the shortest Psalm in the Bible and is located right in the middle of the Bible. It is a beautiful Psalm to start your morning off and get your heart humming the Lord’s praise.

It’s a text message from the heart of God that says that the Lord’s loving kindness for us is great and His faithfulness endures forever. This psalm is also a quick picker upper. When life hits a low, it reminds us to always live a life that praises the Lord whose steadfast love for us endures forever.

Prayer

Lord we love you, we praise you and we adore you.

Amen

The word for peoples suggests all the tribes of the earth. “The very diversity of God’s subjects comes out in the expressions all nations…all tribes.”

In God's worship it is not always necessary to be long; few words sometimes say what is sufficient, as this short Psalm giveth us to understand.

It is a small portion of Scripture, and such as we might easily overlook it. But not so the Holy Ghost. He gleans up this precious little testimony which speaks of grace to the Gentiles, and presses it on our attention
